Yesterday in Science we tested all of our 5 senses! We tested our sense of smell by smelling different food and guessing what they were. We tested our sense of sight by looking at optical illusions and drawing what we could see. We tested our sense of hearing by playing chinese whispers. We tested our sense of touch by playing with the feely bag and drawing what we could feel. Finally we tested our sense of taste! This was the best one because we got to eat tasty jelly! Yum!
Super Science work from Class 11! We worked in small groups and drew around one of our friends to make a picture of a body! We then worked together to correctly label the body and then had a great dance singing head, shoulders, knees and toes!
We had so much fun the other week during our 'hook in' for our new Topic; 'A Sense of Place.' We did some brilliant dragon dancing. We were moving up, down and all around! Fire breathing and fancy!
Year 1 had so much fun yesterday afternoon at their Christmas party! We played some games, had some yummy treats and did a LOT of dancing! Who knew year 1 had such good moves?!
Year 1 have been writing their own London adventures in school. The children have worked so hard to remember capital letters, full stops, finger spaces and beautiful handwriting. We compared the writing to some work from the very start of Year 1 and the difference is amazing...well done Year 1!
In Science this week we carried out an investigation for the three little pigs! We had 3 challenges to test 3 different materials to see which was the best for building a house that the big bad wolf couldn't blow down! We found that the plastic cubes were the best because they were hard and could click together. Well done year 1!
This week in Year 1 we have been looking at 3D shapes! Today we were set a challenge to see if we could make our own 3D shapes out of spaghetti and marshmallows. We had to be persistent and have lots of stickability but we managed to work together to make some super shapes! We talked about how many edges and vertices our shapes had too. We even got to eat all the spare marshmallows at the end! Well done Class 11!
Class 11 are feeling very festive now that it's December! We had lots of fun putting our Christmas tree up on the 1st December and decorating it with baubles. We are loving our advent calendars too...ho ho ho!
Class 11 have super busy this week working on doubling numbers! They have been using the Ipads, playing games in pairs and completing challenge questions all about doubling. Well done Class 11!
Class 11 have been working so hard recently, that when we spotted an interesting looking car on the school yard...we simply couldn't resist going to investigate! The car was very interesting to look at and we even got a turn of sitting in the driver's seat! It was a very old car and we noticed a lot of differences to the cars we have today! Class 11 really enjoyed pretending to drive the car and go back in time!
